We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Area Cleaning Supervisor to join our growing team. In this role you will be responsible for the daily operation of the cleaning team across multiple locations, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for employees, clients, and visitors.
This role involves supervising cleaning staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, managing supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. As part of your role, you will be required to travel to multiple locations in which we offer mileage reimbursement to cover.
This is a permanent role, with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Pay Rate is £15 per hour – with the prospect of rising to £17 per hour
Must have a valid clean UK driving license and own vehicle for travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Management:
- Directly supervise and motivate cleaning staff, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
- Implement and maintain effective cleaning schedules and routines.
- Ensure proper delegation of tasks and responsibilities.
- Manage timekeeping and attendance for cleaning staff.
- Contract visits
- To organise new contracts starts
- Cleaning Operations:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.
- Inspect work areas regularly to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Coordinate cleaning tasks with other departments as needed.
- Implement and enforce cleaning protocols and procedures.
- Handle and address client or customer concerns regarding cleanliness.
- Assist with general cleaning duties as needed.
- Training and Development:
- Provide training on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Ensure staff are up-to-date on best practices and industry standards.
- Identify training needs and develop appropriate programs.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of new cleaning staff.
- Supply Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Order replacements and new materials as needed.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Maintain and control the use of stock, equipment, and consumables.
- Health and Safety:
- Promote a safe work environment for cleaning staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate authority.
- Ensure staff are properly trained in the use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with cleaning staff and management.
- Serve as a liaison between management and cleaning staff.
- Provide regular updates on cleaning operations and issues.
- Participate in team meetings and other relevant events.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping environment preferred.
- Experience supervising or leading a team of cleaners preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties.
