Job Description:

School Cleaner with Caretaking duties Required to work in Helmshore (Rossendale)

We are looking for experienced, hardworking school cleaners/caretakers both AM and PM. The position involves undertaking some caretaking duties as well as cleaning. The location of the job is a lovely school in Helmshore, Rossendale. The available hours are:

1 x cleaner/caretaker for 2 hours Monday to Friday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Total weekly hours = 10. Term time only, 39 term weeks per year.

AND

1 x cleaner/caretaker for 2 hours Monday to Friday from 7am to 9am. Total weekly hours = 10. Term time only, 39 term weeks per year.

Wage:

£ 13.21 per hour.

Requirements of the job:

  • You must have at least 2 years of commercial cleaning experience and caretaking experience, and some floor machine buffing experience is preferred.
  • Example of caretaking duties required are: checking the school yard for hazards, opening up the school, gritting the carpark when needed, leaf and litter removal, adhoc repairs and maintenance such as putting up notice boards or changing a door lock, fixing toilet seats and toilet roll holders when needed.
  • You must be able to speak English and understand written English.
  • You may need your own car to get to and from the site.
  • You must be punctual, professional and presentable and take pride in your work.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to show initiative is essential in this role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • You will need good physical stamina and the ability to perform physically repetitive cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming, cleaning and sanitising toilets, showers, and sinks.
  • You must be able to follow a written cleaning schedule on each site and adhere to health and safety regulations whilst doing so.
  • You must be able to follow established BICSs cleaning procedures.
